‘We are the ones we have been waiting for’ – June Jordan
In light of Melbourne’s first ever People’s Hearing into Racism and Policing, IMARA wanted to find a unique way to provide a platform for young people around issues of racism and racial profiling. This video sought to amplify the unheard, derailed and ignored voices in the discussion surrounding racialised policing and racism in Australia – young Black people!
My role was to film and edit the creative vision of Imara Youth Advocacy. Second camera by Areej Nur.
